Hi everyone
I have been contacted today by the mother of a six month old baby. Over the past
few weeks she has noted a problem with getting a let down to work. This is worse
at night, and her baby is noticeably more fussy until the let down occurs.
sometimes the mother has tried baby at the breast on and off for an hour to get
let down to work.
She is well, no medications, baby well, feeding frequently although just started
tastes of solids. Feeds at night still. Has tried all the usual ideas like relaxing,
massage, etc with no help. Fed previous child for 12 months with no problems.
Anyone have any ideas?? Mum feels her milk supply is fine, breasts still 'fill up'
and baby has plenty of wet nappies, but just gets very fussy until let down
works.
Sorry for being a bit vague, it's very late here.
Suggestions appreciated. This mother is hundreds of kilometres away from me
(Christmas Island) , so
I'm doing my best over the phone.
