On a bit of a lighter note.... During my first (full term) pregnancy, I ate
Ben and Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch every day for probably at least the last 8
weeks. I gave birth to an 11 LB. baby boy... That is some good Ice Cream...
Once he got to the breast, he 'fell' into the 50% range... I was advised to
supplement him!!!! He got so 'normal' once he got to the breast. My daughter,
born 22 months later, without the added Ben and Jerry's, weighed only 8lbs
2oz. she shot out (<4hrs).. it was a piece of cake birth!! (Yes, I had my
first vaginally, 22 hours of labor, an epidural at hour 19 for 60 minutes and I
got to 10 cms, D/Cd the epidural, waited for some feeling to return and pushed
him out, without an episotomy, a tiny tear, in 90 minutes!! And, to me the
most interesting fact is I do NOT have any bladder control problems or other
problems related to LGA babies and I am convinced it is because I did not have
a long exposure to the epidural). He is 13 now, weighs 130 at almost 5'7",
she is 11, weighs 110 at about 5'5". He BFed for 18 months, she weaned at
6months :(. I was just 38 and almost 40 for their births!!! Sorry this is
kind of OT, but it's a good story!!!
