Subject: galactocoele

1. She does not need antibiotics for a galactocoele so she can stop them.
2. The only reason to do anything about a galactocoele is if it's so big it
is interfering with breastfeeding.
3. Galactocoeles do not usually cause any problems for the mother or the
baby, and should be left alone 99.9% of the time.
4. The galactocoele will eventually dry up when the baby weans, but there is
no reason to wean.

Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC
