I tell mothers that there are several reliable pumps available, and
highlight the things they should look for.
I discuss pump cycling, the availability of replacement parts, the price
points, why the mother needs (if she does) a pump, the advantages of manual
expression - and the marketing behind the huge demand for pumps in our
economy (why there are so many unreliable pumps on the shelves/why she thinks
she needs a pump - esp if she is not returning to work). I do tell which
companies are Code violators and why that matters to me.
I try not to recommend at all, as it is not my job to sell any
manufacturers pump for them.
But, if cornered, I recommend Hygeia because they will buy it back, making
a much better financial investment.

Subject: Which pumps DO you recommend?

OK, that's all the information I need about Medela and mold. That is just
gross and plain wrong.

While we're on the subject of pumps, which do you LIKE? The Ameda Ultra
Plus or Simplesse? I don't know much about Hygiea but would like to. Is
there a particular model that you recommend? Pumps are so outrageously
expensive that I would love to recommend a multi use model that is more bang for
the buck. It would be great to have on on-line tutorial and virtual demo
on pumps, don't you think? Thank you, Dana
