What stood out to me about that I objected to was the last sentence:

<<The American Academy of Pediatrics encourages women to make an informed

decision about feeding their infants based on scientifically established

information from credible resources.>>

Even though it laudably urges women to rely on scientific information from credible sources, it doesn't actually tell them to breastfeed. The email does not urge women to breastfeed. It urges them to "make an informed choice." At first glance we can all agree with that statement but in context the result is to EQUALIZE the "choices", to minimize the differences between them. There are two choices, per the AAP: formula and breastfeeding.

No there are not. That's like saying there are two food choices for newborn (pick a mammal) apes, dogs, whales etc: their mother's milk and some artificial product.

Do we tell women to "make an informed choice" about whether or not to get mammograms after a certain age? Do we tell people to "make an informed choice" about whether or not to wear a seatbelt while driving?

No. We don't....
