I missed the initial 34-weeker posting but my gut feeling would be to just
keep going -- an SNS would be a great idea.  I worked with a very, very
sick mom who was pre-eclamptic and then had a csection, maybe an infection
besides.  She "third-spaced" so much that I didn't recognize her when I
saw her a week later.  (When the body is under stress -- like surgery --
the body throws fluids from the circulatory system into the tissues.  As
the body begins to recover, the fluids return to where they should be.)
   Ideally we'd take absolutely all the stress off this mom -- no push to
get any milk.  Just enjoy the warm softness of that little mouth...the
lights down low...your favorite drink at your side....the key is the
let-down.  And it works best when you tap into breed'n'feed mode (that's
the parasympathetic nervous system).  Sometimes I think we'd have it
easier if we could just hand the new baby to a friend and let the friend's
baby get the new mom's milk supply going.  (Yes, I know, that has its
drawbacks too!)
