Does anyone recommend a particular lactation text over another to aid in
counseling dyads? I am looking into purchasing a few and wanted to see what
others felt on the "best" ones that are out there.>>>>>>>>>.

Kelly, so many really good ones out there, .....you picked some of the cream
of the crop so far.

I'll take a shot at a response for you here:

ILCA Core Curriculum for Lactation Consultant Practice, M. Walker:........
this is what I would recommend to read and study to take the exam initially and
use thereafter as an excellent resource.

The Breastfeeding Atlas. B. Wilson-Clay: ......this along with the CD was
the only text that I read and looked over before taking the exam at 10yrs,
...*very* good use of my time.

The Breastfeeding Answer Book, LLL: ....frequent clinical use, in practical
use terms for moms, this one I used most often in conjunction with weekly
"Breastfeeding Moms Group".

Medications and Mothers' Milk, T. Hale: ......can't see how to practice
without it.

Look at text also by Dr Lawrence, and Kathleen G. Auerbach and Jan Riordan.

Maybe you can read over JHL book reviews for more detailed info and insight.

Best wishes,
