K. Jean, mellomom you have to be! I usually read posts such as yours and sit
and sputter, but this one was one that makes me wonder about this mom's legal
rights being safeguarded. Being forbidden to BF? Signing contracts? Angry
Doctor? Does he not follow the his own professional organization's guidlines?
Shoudn't he be happy this mom is so determined to BF and work with her instead
of fighting her? She needs to switch practises, or seek legal advice. Her
lactation issues are being looked after most capably by a knowledgeable
professional, she needs only the back up support of her MD. Is he so insecure
that he is closed to information from other sources other than his own
obviously less than informed ego. I myself would have to be restrained from
bopping him on the head with an edition (hardcover)of a good book on BF
management.
I can't wait to see the responses from all our Lactnet MDs!
Susan WittnerRN, BSN, LLLL, wondering if I really want to go into professional
practice if I have to deal with THIS!
