I did a search, but the information I found was related to mothers getting hives while breastfeeding. This mother gets hives when her milk touches her skin. Her doctor was asking me about this. She put her milk on her arm in her dr's office and he saw the reaction. He is aware of moms having reactions while breastfeeding, but this seems a little different. She does have some irritation on the nipple/areola, but the reaction (hives) is more pronounced when the milk touches other parts of her body. Otherwise the breastfeedng is going well. Her dr did mention she had porphyia as a child and he induced her labor due to colestasis and increased values on her liver function tests. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
