I'm not sure if your conclusion is justified. I have no insight in the average
numbers, but I suspect that Barb's dioxins numbers are far below average.

The report of the Dutch government in 1996 said:

"In general, it may be stated that in excess of 90% of human exposure to PCDDs,
PCDFs and dioxin-like PCBs derives from the consumption of animal fats, of which
50% are contained in milk and milk products. "

That's different from what the researcher said to Barb said. I do not know why
they said so. Maybe the average numbers of dioxins are much lower in the
population they researched, so that percentile division of the several resources
is different. Or maybe they knew less about it than today. Or they just wanted to
reassure her.

This is what I worry about in the Dutch studies too.  The average weaning age was
very early (about 6 weeks), and as far as I know there are no good definitions of
breastfeeding used in the reseach. Nothing about supplementing in the first week,
etc.
