Okay I've had this thought running in my head for a few days due to an
encounter I had in a parenting chat room (oh I can get into some hot water
in those rooms). So having this thread come up is very timely.

My thoughts have run to the notion that "yes" we seem *okay*, in the context
of an artificially fed culture. But ultimately how would we compare to an
inverse culture of breastfeeders. That is a culture that is similar in every
aspect of life (North American life that is) with the exception that
breastfeeding to at least the age of one year was supported and practiced to
the extent that formula feeding is today.

Then and only then will we be able to compare ourselves and note if we are
*okay*.
