HI Jaye,
I had a similar frustrating experience 2 days ago. Baby was born 35
weeks, big, strong, healthy but 5 weeks early none the less. Mom had
been exclusively pumping with a mini electric. She told me that an LC
in the hospital (I think it was a nurse and not an IBCLC) taught her
how to pump - and even in the hospital she used her mini electric
which she could use in her room and not have to sit in the pumping
room where the hospital grade pumps are kept. No one told her which
pump she should be using (they should have sent her home with a
referral to receive a lactina for free). Like so many women, she
believed that as long as a pump is electric, it is what you need. Her
milk supply is very low.
It can make you crazy!
