Hi,
>Guess my question is, given that all mammals nurse their young, why do we
>picture ourselves as cows? (Why not goats? At least we both have kids!)

If you were a Hindu, you'd probably think this was a flattering analogy!
:-) Seriously, why is everyone so down on cows? They are good mothers,
they don't start wars, they are vegetarian, they are the means of
survival and only source of protein for many poor families in the world
and I think they are nice animals. The reason we associate cows with
milk is that they are the one animal used all over the world for its
milk because it is very, very good at producing milk. I don't think it's
an insult!
