I don't know if this mother had the IV glucose or not. I know she had hoped to
have  a VBAC and her labor never progressed past 2 cm which sounds like she
could have been in labor a while before they decided to do the c-section. From
what I understand, she had put on a lot of weight--much of it fluid
buildup--partially due to forced inactivity from the broken leg (it was broken
in 3 places and healing poorly so she had a long cast on for much of the last
few months.)
