I had to just take this off in a more humourous direction....

In this world of shock horror GASP you gave sugar to the toddler... any
toddler of mine shouting "tea" would get me into more trouble than if he
shouted "breasts!"

Or rather, if he shouted "boob, "titty" or even "breast" in ears of most
people... I'd be in trouble. But if he shouted "tea" in front of those
informed on the breastfedding, I'd be in deep water for giving 'tea' to
my toddler!

You can't win, you can't break even, you can't get out of the game! :-)

(Who does see tea, complete with milk and sugar, in babies' bottles, but
who grew up in a family where tea and coffee weren't allowed until the
age of 12. Which has brought me to a horrible thought.. they don't put
coffee in babies bottles in the 'coffee' parts of the world, do they...?)
