Are you describing my baby? Janene is four now and she nursed until
just after her 4th birthday, and she never ever took milk or any other
liquid in any form except from the breast. And we tried EVERYTHING. I
worked out of the home full time from the time she was 12 weeks old, and
my husband would simply bring her to me or I would go to her. She also
would wait. A long time. Even after she was enjoying solids she
wouldn't take any liquid in a sippy cup, but she especially turned her
nose up at breastmilk (good thing I had an older child who drank the
milk like it was liquid gold.) She didn't drink from a cup until she
was well over a year old!

It didn't help that Janene was a premie and a very slow weight gainer. I
had a great ped nurse who never suggested (although we came close)
giving fomula. I just scheduled my life around her needs. I know by 6
months I would put her to bed at night and then go shopping or
something, and I worked all day, so I didn't feel cramped in, I just
scheduled everything around Janene's needs to eat.
