I have been wanting to hear input on this for a long time, and the
co-sleeping discussion has forced me to jump in. My question is this: Are
there any of you out there who co-sleep during your BF time, let's say
until 2 years old, and then put child in her own bed, and how do you do
this? I am up to "three strikes and you are out...". I have one nursing
baby in my bed, and a five year old and a three year old who come in every
night and wake up the minute they are transfered. I would like to help my
14 month old learn good sleep patterns. I guess my question is when do we
decide it is in the child's best interest to learn how to sleep a night
through so they will be well rested and happy in the morning, and how do
you make this happen after they have been in your bed for the first two
years of their life? Privately, not on the list, I want to know if any
other parents sometimes are dying for more than one tiny strip of their bed
to themselves so they don't wake up in the morning with back cramps from
being sandwiched between 2 kids... How do you facilitate this? I am
definately for co-sleeping, but unfortunately my personal experience has
shown 3 children under 5 who do not sleep through the night, and I think
this is getting in the way of my unbiased counseling skills. All advice is
welcome and so appreciated.
Thanks,
