Cheryl,

I am so sorry to hear about the seizures this baby is having.
Although I do everything I can to accept the mother's "intuition" about her
circumstances, I am inclined to agree with the doctors in this case. I have
had a few mothers who are on the Atkins diet here in Florida (this diet was
not personally recommended by me and there is lots of seafood here!). None
have reported seizure symptoms.

Most mothers feel very responsible for what happens to there babies,
and often when a baby is not feeling well, many people ask a breastfeeding
mother about her diet. Some of my clients have used diet related issues as
an "opportunity to wean".

If mom really thinks it is the seafood, she can always change her diet
to test the hypothesis. if she is not willing to do that, then perhaps she
wants to wean.
