Sorry I'm late with this response and I know this topic has been discussed
before.
I agree with Jack ( no surprise) have mom stop cow's milk consumption. Now
if you're more into digging into this as I often am
or need to reassure a worried mom more you can:
send stool for culture
send stool for white blood cells (inflamation)
check a CBC with differential to check baby's hemoglobin
if bleeding a lot and look for eosinophils as an indication of allergy
maybe do a RAST for cow's milk, helpful if a strong positive
