A La Leche League Leader friend of mine had a rabbit that had babies a few
years ago.  She (the Leader) was interested toi observe the mother rabbit's
behavior- she mother only nursed once or twice a day and spent the rest of
the time ignoring the babies.   I don't know if this is normal behavior- but
this rabbit's babies were all healthy and grew up.  That's about all I know
