I have shared my story on Lactnet before, but it's been a long time,
so I'll just recap the rest of it quickly. That child continued
nursing past his third birthday, and around that time he passed a
food challenge test with pecans in a doctor's office with flying
colors. He had completely outgrown his allergy.

margaret,

i just wanted to say that i love it when you post your story - it
gives me hope every time that we can perhaps count on a similar
outcome w/ our very anaphylactically peanut allergic 2 yo daughter. we
will retest her again when she is 5, before she starts school - and i
know i will be thinking of you and your son on that day ! i tell my
hubby and mom all the time about the stories i read here on lactnet
when last we discussed this issue and cite them as my reasons for not
despairing that she actually has a 95% chance of being this allergic
for life as the specialist says. i hope in 3 yrs i'm posting a bfing
allergy success story, too !
