Did any of the docs involved in the case consider the fact that the
infant's gut had artificial milk as the initial food?!  Darlene did
not mention how long the baby got ABM (artificial baby milk aka
formula) before breastfeeding.  I remember an article many years ago
that claimed it took at least a couple weeks of total breastfeeding
to undo the gut changes from just one feeding of something else.
With the mentioned family history of problems with milk products,
this infant could have been "set up" for these problems with very
few initial artificial feedings.
