Hi Virginia and all,

I was actually shocked that this baby seemed to have no evidence of a
breathing issue like laryngomalacia or tracheomalacia. ( And she's plenty old
enough for it to have declared itself.) I will see this baby again for
follow-up after now two-three CST sessions. As I attempt to tease out what is
going on with this little one, I wonder if the work of breathing has been
affected by the very tight posterior neck/jaw issue, which has limited range
of motion, power, and therefore stamina. She never seems "stressed"
breathing wise, which has also surprised me. I"m looking forward to seeing her
after not seeing her for a week or so to notice any changes. I will then have
more information to update the doctor ( the only one I think reads and
responds to notes...:) Thanks for putting the breathing ( heart issue,
something>?) back for consideration.

Other than that local IBCLCs are dealing with a local very popular
physician who posted on a list with 5,000 moms on it locally, how those who point
out and refer for posterior tongue tie are wrong, putting babies in danger
of bleeding out, overstepping their roles, and are "aligned" with
likeminded ENTs who are just in it because of "very high reimbursement". So it's
going to be even harder for any baby to get the help they need than before...
Peace,
Judy

Judy, I wonder what else is going on? I'm thinking a breathing issue
affecting ability to feed, especially as you have dealt with other issues. The
"different" tongue- tie and the history you gave set me on this line of
thought. If breathing difficulty is part of this equation, I suspect it may
get worse, as the child has to feed, but feeding and swallowing stresses
what ever is structurally or functionally wrong.
