For what it is worth, I could pump more milk with the Gentle Expressions
that with any other pump on the market, at the time I was nursing my kids,
including the Lact-E and the Lactina. Perhaps it was something about the
way I cycled it. Also, I have wondered if the fact that the opening of it
is a little bigger than standard ones might have had something to do with
it. I do not have large nipples, but I think, for some reason, that helped.

I was wondering what everyone thought of the new Evenflo ComfortEase. I
actually like it the best of any hand pump, including the Avent Isis and
Ameda one-hand pump. It is easy to find and economical, and I like the idea
of there being one fairly decent pump that fathers who run to the grocery
store in the middle of the night can find. I think the name is the biggest
disadvantage to it, though, because people can end up with one of the other
Evenflo pumps. Someone put a critique of it (supposedly) on the internet,
saying it was worthless. However, reading the woman's comments, it was
obvious that what she had was the Evenflo Press and Pump, and not the
ComfortEase. I have also seen a picture of their little cheap, worthless
hand pump on the internet, labeled Evenflo ComfortEase.

The ComfortEase comes with an hourglass shaped, wide rimmed bottle, but will
fit on a standard sized bottle, which I find much more comfortable and easy
to operate. I would not envision many LCs recommending it, but there might
be times, when someone needs a pump after hours and/or isn't willing to pay
much, when recommending the ComfortEase would at least help avoid having
them get some totally horrible formula company pump.

Aloha,
Darillyn
