Sharon- I have seen the superiority of certain views expressed at a
LLL meeting in that last year, so it still goes on. I have been
frowned on for "allowing" my 3 year old to bring candy with her to a
meeting, and I have been afraid to bring snacks because they might not
be good enough. I do my best to look like just a "normal mom" (not
very earthy crunchy) whilst advocating breastfeeding, sometimes just
by doing it. I have "breastfed is bestfed", "human milk for human
babies" bumperstickers on my car, but no more so I don't appear a
zeolot. I'm more likely to buy my husband a breastfeeding t-shirt
than wear one myself.

I dunno- we *do* influence people just by being ourselves, so maybe
people who are actively influencing mothers, such as LLLLeaders, or
IBCLC's just need to be aware of that.
