Julie wrote, "The problem is that she expresses 36 oz from her right
breast and only drops from her left." If I remember correctly there
was a space between
the 3 and the 6, i.e. 3 6 oz, so Julie did you mean she expresses 3 to
6 oz? If that is so,
expressing that volume 6+ times could certainly total up to 36 oz in 24 hrs.

So I agree with Rachel that mom has plenty of milk and let's focus on
that, mostly.
However, I guess if I were this mom I would wonder and worry why the
other side is
virtually shut down? I am thinking the hormones go in the bloodstream
so that should
not be a factor, but maybe the receptor sites are lacking? Still does
not sound logical to me.

My most likely reasoning would be a nerve impingement on the affected
side. Is there any engorgement, and if so, is it
worse on affected side? I believe you said no history of mastitis etc.
So perhaps mom can
get some bodywork done and see if the nerve releases. In the meantime
I would focus on breastfeeding
on the functional side, and do some RPS and expressing on the affected side.

Mom might even try pumping (after RPS) on the affected side
simultaneously while bf on the functioning side.
