We may have already discussed this, but the two places to start are your
unit manager and your business manager. Your unit manager will need to nudge
the business manager to help figure out the coding so that you can get
properly paid. In addition, you'll need to have an easy system so the
referring doctor can easily order a consult. (There are codes for moms and
codes for babes - you'll need a good working relationship so you can code
and bill on the right patient with the right doctor -- this is always a
challenge because you are working with a dyad!) Then figure out how your
docs will like to get info on what you did and what you found.
Hope this helps - it's just the first baby steps but they are important!
