Does anyone have any information on the long term use of Domperidone. I'm
talking with a mom (permission to post) who is nursing her adopted son, and
her doctor is uncomfortable with her continuing on the Domperidone. Below is
some info from the mom:

My son is 2, and I'm on 3 pills (10 mg each), 3x/day (=90 mg) (actually, I
spread it out overnight...). I've been on it since May 06, at one pill/day
until May 07, then 9 pills/day (= 90 mg).I am still nursing with the LactAid
at night, with cow+goat milk. I did not do the full protocol (i.e., with
birth control pill), so I never achieved a full milk supply. My family doctor is
uncomfortable with my continued use of Domperidone for lactation for my son.
He has only read of use up to 1.5 years. He is concerned for me and for my
son being exposed to a drug for such a long time without known consequences.

I have sent her the info I have from Hale, and a little bit of other info I
could find, but I'm wondering if anyone has any other info they can offer.

Warmly,
Fleur Bickford BSc., RN, LLLL (and sitting the IBLCE exam in July)
