I agree with Karyn-Grace that sexuality is such an important topic for
dads. In fact, a friend and client of mine told me in confidence that
she felt their marriage was in serious trouble. She said that she
just didn't feel attracted to him any more and thought they must not
be in love any more. Turns out this was the first time, though 4th
child, she had breastfed and she interpreted her hormonal state that
way. When I explained that a lack of desire may be due to her
hormones, but that if she welcomed her husband's advances, she would
most likely respond as usual, she was amazed, she had never heard
that.

A few weeks later, she told me "You've saved our marriage!!" with a
big smile. I just felt frustrated that she'd been given so little
information about her body in the first place.

A little information (and hope!) like "Sometimes breastfeeding mothers
feel a change or decrease in their level of desire. If you feel that
way, you will probably find that you will respond very well to a
little extra patience from your husband." can make all the difference!
