Hello, 
   Let me reintroduce myself as I last wrote a year ago and have been
busy working/moving/changing jobs etc since.  I am a nurse with 16 years
experience--mostly with pregnant women and their infants in inpatient
and outpatient settings. I recently moved from warm, sunny Phoenix,
Arizona to cooler, rainier (but friendly and pretty) Charleston, South
Carolina.  I have just started a new job and until I get too busy, I
have found the time to turn off my NOMAIL.  I just wanted to add
something to this bottle discussion that I learned from this list last
year sometime and have used it in my classes/consultations since
whenever the discussion of fathers (grandparents...) and bottlefeeding
as a way to bond comes up.  I don't remember the original Lactnet
author's name, but it sure had an impact on me:  "A primary role of the
father is to teach the baby that love and comfort are not necessarily
associated with food."  I add that in America with so many people with
obesity, anorexia and other eating disorders/challenges the non-food
sources of love and comfort need to be taught early on (not that mothers
can't teach this, just that with BF, moms are closely associated with
food for the baby and it helps fathers feel important in addition to
helping with BF, bathing, diapers, the house...).     Wish I could give
credit and a big thanks to the original author, as I see lights go on in
the dads/moms eyes everytime I say it.
