Ephedra is the plant also known as Ma Huang, the plant source of the
substance ephedrine, of which pseudo-ephedrine, the decongestant and
stimulant, is a synthetic version.
It is not good for mothers in pregnancy or while breastfeeding and has been
discussed on Lactnet not long ago so will be in the archives.
