Hello lactnuts,
Just another reminder. Public comment is being taken til Dec 15, if I am
not mistaken. The Healthy People 2010 program is currently soliciting
comments from the public on their objectives. We need lots of input re
breastfeeding in their objectives. You can comment on any section
electronically via your computer. Just go to the site and it tells you
what to do. Go to the public comment sections.

http://web.health.gov/healthypeople/

This may take some time, as I have read many of the objectives and found
many places to comment, not just in the maternal-infant section, where
bf is specifically addressed. You can comment under
quality of life (bf enhances)
education and community programs (i think i mentioned bfhi here)
dental health
nutrition and nutrition educ
access to quality health services (ibclcs)
-insurance coverage (LCs and breast pumps, etc)
-training to address health disparities (this mentions dr training)
family planning
maternal-infant
-sids
-childbirth classes
-inf. mortality
-bf
-exclusive bf
AND i am not even finished yet. the next obj. is medical devices! please
take an evening or w/e to comment on these. there is strenght in
numbers.
Thanks!
