The meaning of exclusively breastfeeding could be interpreted as no other 
sucking than exclusively at the breast. Sucking a pacifier would not be 
classified as exclusive

I personally disagree with this statement re: pacifiers.  Pacifiers (and 
thumbs :-) provide non nutritive sucking.  Exclusive BF is talking about 
only receiving breastmilk, no other source of food.  I suppose a baby can be 
exclusively breastmilk fed also.  Pat in SNJ, back from VELB.
