Ruthy-
The Biblical reference to overlying is found in 1Kings 3. It's the
famous tale of King Solomon's wisdom...2 prostitutes became pregnant and had
babies around the same time. One woman's sosn "died because she lay on
him". Both claimed the living child as her own, and came to King Solomon to
settle the matter. He ordered that the child be cut in two and each given
half. The real mother said to let the other woman have him, just don't hurt
him. King Solomon returned the child to his own mother.
I do take the Bible to be the Word of God. Also believe that sleeping
with our babies is natural....Maybe the prostitute drank too much wine. Or
maybe her child died of SIDS, but society placed blame on the gieiving mother
(people do usually invent reasons for what is not understood).
BTW, Dr. Sears, "fathe" of attachment parenting is also a believer.
I can't think of any other references to co-sleeping in the Bible.
 Anyone else know of any?
