Fiona,
You mentioned nipple blisters and treating by piercing with a needle. I
saw one in clinic once, and no amount of any other treatment was doing
any good. We were all dying to try a needle, but not being doctors, it
didn't seem appropriate. I am wondering *who* dares to do this in
Australia? Or in the U.S. and elsewhere, for that matter? There is
definitely a difference between a plugged nipple pore [filled duct] and a
nipple blister. It can be painful to squeeze the blister, as one would be
tempted to do in order to clear it, and they can be resistant to rubbing
as well. A sterile needle really does seem like the best solution (just as
they are usually the best way to get a splinter out of the skin), but
also more like practicing medicine?

Comments?

-Lisa
