Here is a thought on why we should sterilize/or wash pump parts before first
use. Because there may be residues from manufacture remaining on the
plastic parts that we would not want baby to ingest. Where I work I am
assuming the universal pump kit (for Medela) is sterilized, or processed
some way since production to remove any of that? We just take the parts out
and start mom pumping, should we be washing them first?

Janette
