Sample of one -- I had a rubella shot on the delivery table, within minutes
of giving birth to child #2 who was 3-4 weeks premature by dates. I had
also had had one on the delivery table with child #1 who was two weeks
overdue by dates. When I got pregnant with child #3, I was *still* showing
no antibodies to rubella.

I also have never had either mumps or the mumps vaccine, but I did nurse
from my mother when *she* had the mumps (I was 4 months old, she was 35).
When she complained to her pediatrician that it was excruciatingly painful
to nurse when she had the mumps, he told her it would hurt a lot more if she
*didn't* nurse when she had the mumps and to grit her teeth and keep on
breastfeeding -- which she did! :)
