Anne,
Congrats on the new baby on the way! Hope all goes like a breeze for you
when the time comes!
Being new to this field and still very green, I know very little about the
differentiations between CLE, IBCLC and LC. I know that you have to taake
one heck of an exam to be IBCLC, but what are the specifics of these (
CLE,LC,IBCLC)? Right now, I am a peer councelor for the WIC program, and I
also give BASIC BF advice to my customers,( I run a pump station). Many
people ask me if I am an LC, and I always reply, emphatically, NO! I'm in
training, if there is a question or problem I can't answer or handle, I refer
it out or do some serious research. My mentor is Karen Evon, and I'm on the
phone with her A LOT asking questions and clarifying information. Funny, we
haven't really talked about the differences between IBCLC, CLE, and LC
Anyway, any literature I can read about these? Or any explinations would be
wonderful!
Thanks a lot!
I've learned so much from Lactnet and all of you Professionals out there!
This is a great service to us beginners!
Janet
