About 17 years ago I took care of a lady with a set of identical triplets.
(They said it was one for the record books). She would nurse two and pump
after each feeding . She followed this routine from day one: Rotating which
babies were at the breast and the one getting bottle fed. She had an older
daughter with severe asthma and was bound and determined to nurse these little
boys. No matter what anyone said. Oddly enough, I don't ever remember her
worrying that she wouldn't have enough milk. Maybe that is why she nursed for
a full year and told me she never used a drop of formula!!
I still see those three kids with their flaming red hair around town. I
wonder if they know how unusual they are :-)
