I have just been a part of LactNet for a few months. I love the discussion
on breastfeeding and all that I learn. However, it seems that there is a bit
more comments of a political nature than is helpful. Just because we all
support breastfeeding and value children, doesn't mean that we all have the
same views regarding government run helath care, government-mandated
maternity leave, etc. A case could easily be made that just the opposite is
more helpful to children and the breastfeeding relationship. I am just
asking that we keep our political views a little quieter on the
forum--except when it is directly related to breastfeeding--so the forum can
be welcoming to breastfeeding supporters from all political persuasions.

>>>>>>Until the US realizes that children are important and value them,
nothing
will change. The President just vetoed a bill for uninsured children's
health care! Health insurance is another BIG issue in the US, right along
with a decent maternity leave. It gets very discouraging.<<<<<<
