Hi Dianne,
I would be curious to see a pre-post weight done on this baby. Maybe she is
getting much of what she needs very quickly, and pulls off because of the
possible OALD. Just saw a mom who's baby was getting worked up for
hirshbrungs disease and others. Did pre-post weigh, bb getting 124cc's in just
12 min. mom pumps 3 oz in 2min. Baby has a clear fore/hind inbalance with
green frothy watery stools. Baby in pain and "crawling" up mom after feeds.
In first 2 weeks after birth (now 5 weeks old) had up to 30 stools/24hours.
Had very rotund belly. Now advice two to three feeds on same breast. only
feed when hungry, not every 3 hours on the dot. Mom kinda doing the baby
wise thing..ho,hummm. Now after one week baby had substance to stools
even a few curds... weight gain 4 oz this week. pre-post 153 cc 5 oz had
gone 5 hours between feeds. Yes, one breast only. Mom has all the info from
The Breast Atlas about oversupply, so we are working on it. Pediatrician very
supportive about plan.

Best,
Robin
