Wow, physicians are so incredibly imaginative and inventive when they
are trying to find ways to undermine breastfeeding. If only they were
as imaginative and inventive in the support of breastfeeding.

What difference does an extra ounce of formula make to preventing or not
preventing the baby's developing thrush? Explain to the mother that
breastmilk contains factors which discourage the growth of yeast.
Explain the risks of formula feeding which are much greater than the
baby's developing thrush. Maybe that will help. But what kind of
thinking is going on there? Ann, be judgemental of the HCP. It can be
done gently, but... Advice of this kind is absurd. I would not have
complete confidence in the MD, and this will not be the last time s/he
will undermine breastfeeding.

By the way, penicillin for a simple cold is wrong. Sinusitis is
overdiagnosed, but I cannot make a judgement on that one.
