Hi Jaye,

For Client #1, with history of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), I believe the
galatogagues could be an issue. I am not well versed in all the effects that
the herbs you mention could have, but any agent which can cause increased
bowel motility could be a problem. If her IBS is not active, and is just a
past history issue, she could start at the lowest dose, maybe just taking
one galactagogue and not several at once, and monitor closely for the side
effects.

For Client #2 with history of R breast cancer and mastectomy, there is an
issue with possibly the domperidone causing breast density changes and I
assume making it harder to monitor and diagnose the other breast. The
article below may not be in press yet, but the lead author (I think first
name Jennifer) has many published articles in her area of interest, which is
hormone changes and mammography. Also, radiation can affect the healthy
breast if it was irradiated. Was it? I do not think (not sure though) that
it would affect the left side if just the right side was irradiated.

*Harvey JA, **Cowan J, LoRusso AP*. Increase in mammographic breast density
associated with use of domperidone. The Breast Journal (accepted).

Could either of these ladies use nursing supplementer at breast with as much
as possible skin to skin, akin to relactation efforts? Perhaps the baby with
the latch issue would still be a problem (#2) because using a supplementer,
as you know, is not so effective if baby is not latching/suckling well. Or
maybe baby has improved since then.
