Oooooooh dear...I have had to have a short lie down in a darkened room
after reading Dr Paula's breastfeeding advice.

It is such a shame.

Is she famous in the US? I've never heard of her here. She sounds quite a
nice person, and basically very supportive of her clients, and even of bf,
but as we see so often, being nice and kind and supportive is not enough.
If you're setting yourself up as an adviser to mothers about bf, you have
to know your facts, your physiology and your sociology, too!

I haven't heard of sugar water being given to UK newborns in years and
years - plenty of other non-phsyiological and unhelpful advice is offered
instead, of course, but I'm glad to say this particular one was thrown out.
