Mom has given consent. She just gave birth to her third baby. All 3 of her
babies have had a tongue tie. The first two were not clipped. The third is
on her way for a frenotomy. Her last two babies have classic symptoms of
colic, acid reflux and over supply syndrome yet I have ruled out over supply
syndrome because there is not abundant amount of milk or do the babies gulp
at the breast and mom just doesn't present any physical characteristics. The
babies were miserable. Her babies were not big and there was never any
discrepancy with their weight. They cried night and day until she switched
exclusively to soy formula at 6 months when they became perfect. She had
gone on a strict elimination diet...milk, wheat, nuts etc. for months
without any changes to babies behavior. She mentioned that she was down to
eating just turkey and rice without any changes. Every test was done to
figure out what is going on. She saw alot of specialists who just told her
that her babies were allergic to breastmilk. They could not find out the
issue. The poops were green, mucusy and with blood. Mom said that she
eventually went to 80% soy formula and 20% BM where the symptoms improved
but not eliminated. It wasn't until she completely weaned her babies and
gave them strictly soy formula before all symptoms disappeared. Currently,
this third baby is exclusively breastfed at 2 weeks old and has started with
the green poops. No symptoms of colic as of yet. She is gaining normal
weight. Mom also mentions that when she pumped previously and currently,
that the layer of fat at the top (once milk has been sitting for awhile) is
paper thin..which may mean something or nothing but thought I would add as
much info as I can. I am stumped here. Any thoughts? I feel there is an
answer and we need your help.
