Some research can also be found under 'skin-to-skin' rather than KC.
Bier, J-A.B. et al. Comparison of skin-to-skin contact with standard
contact in low-birth-weight infants who are breast-fed. Arch Ped Adolesc
Med 1996; 150(2):1265-69.
Showed higher rates of breastfeeding in the SSC group during
hospitalization, at 1 month post-discharge, and at 6 months
post-discharge.
Hurst, N.M. et al. Skin-to-skin holding in the neonatal intensive care
unit influences maternal milk volume. J Perinatol 1997; 17(3):213-17.
Mothers who did STS at least 30minutes/day had increased milk volumes.
