I agree. I see much less thrush now than I used to. Now I see lots of
staph (pink cellulitis or golden crusting) and the occasional strep
(bilateral, sharply demarkated, fire red).

I wonder if the lack of early stim is what caused the insufficient supply (my first baby in '59 was 3 min on one side , then 3 min on other side 4 hours later -this rigid # of minutes -5 on 2nd day and so on, always q 4 hours) went on for a week. Then home to not much milk. Now moms get to nurse right away, then the nurses are insisting that mom wake baby q 2 hours to feed. And parents keep doing that when they get home and moms call me because baby doesn't want to wake up. Just watched Latch 1-2-3 (no financial interest :-) It shows a good view of times to feed baby in light sleep or early alert stages, not waking from sound sleep or waiting until baby is screaming after the "required" pre feed diaper change. Seems a shame we don't follow the baby's lead. (We need to watch these DVDs from time to time, LOL.)

I think it is waxing and waning of the germ/fungus/virus that we see with other infections. Just my ponderings for the morning :-) Pat in SNJ
