I'd like to gently point out that giving birth is not a prerequisite to having
nipple thrush . . . I've not seen thrush causing the symptoms described, but I
have seen more than one case of nipple thrush present at delivery. It's
something I always screen for when a mother complains of nipple pain that seems
out of proportion to what's happening to her nipples in the first few days.
