Dear Friends:

A mother was asked to move from where she was seated, discreetly nursing her
6-month old. She ended up by nursing in a cold stairwell.

This violates a Philadelphia ordinance (bf is legal anywhere in Philadelphia
and mothers are not to be asked to move), and the lactation community in
Philadelphia is rallying around this incident.

The funny thing is that this incident occurred in the Museum of Art, where
there must be hundreds of exposed breasts in statues and paintings. Matterson
has a cartoon about this very thing!

warmly,

Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CCE,CIMI
