To wean from the old rubber nipple shields I have been told that they used
to cut them away from the tips. I have both heard and read that cutting
back silicone nipple shields can be dangerous because baby's mouth can be
cut on the sharp edges. Is this hear-say, has someone seen this happen, or
is it a theoretical risk? Has anyone ever studied this?
